Hi, I have a Lenovo Yoga 710 14-IKB Intel i7 7500 CPU. Here is my problem: Here in the weekend after I through ‘windows update’ updated my laptop, my sound didn’t work any more, and when I hover over the sound icon at bottom/task-line it says following: “There isn’t installed an sound output device”. It’s the first time I ever experience such difficulties, but I also had this laptop like 12 days ago, so its such a pity. To mention: I have tried to update the “Realtek High Defintion Audio” but I can’t update the driver, and it gives me following error: the unit won’t start (something like that) and Stopcode: 10. I have tried to download a new driver beside the one I had (before I update my pc through windows update), I got I directly from Intels homepage and it actually worked but it said something like “Realtek High Definition Audio (SST)” which wasn’t what I had before and the quality and the functionality was far from what it was before. I also tried to get one from Lenovo Support’s homepage under this device, and the driver worked, but it that one gave the stopcode 10 error as well.
Another thing to mention: Inside device manager: and under the tab(/section) “other devices” it told that it was having following error: driver software isn’t installed (code: 28). And this was for a driver called “Intel High Definition Audio”. To mention also: I tried to totally reset my laptop (factory mode), since I only had few personal items on it since it is so new. And it disappointingly didn’t solve any of my problems. And the sound icon still says “No sound output device is installed”. To menition also: I have tried the built in troubleshoot mechanisms, and it unfortunately didn’t work either.
